Hotel Palmas De Cortez

This is a Quaint , cozy , built by non hoteliers, but the location, swimmable beach, vibe , clean ( not luxurious at all, but with a fan and a silent air conditioned , nice bed sheets and comfy beds , we stayed in villa 4, it's just an easy relaxed , non pretentious ambiance with a dock for the fishing boats picking you up for your day at sea. Food is good and the staff is helpful and courteous, Try it it's worth a try for 145 the room , approximately, off season , just be aware that many business in the zone close from August 1st to October 1st. Weather is hot sea is fresh . Great place great Sunrises!

Palmas de Cortez is an incredible, authentic experience of Baja Mexico. In the past I’ve enjoyed affordable room options like their Cabanas, and this time enjoyed the Presidential 2 Bedroom with my 3 kids and wife — wonderfully designed, with deluxe furnishings, ample space, 2 full bathrooms and jacuzzi tubs. The Restaurants at Palmas, including both Bayside and Umi, are TOP notch for Mexico. Absolutely impressive how dialed in each menu item is, and the service is absolutely impeccable — with very fair prices, insanely GOOD value. The fishing is also phenomenal. I’ve gone dozens of times over the 30 years or so I’ve been visiting, first as a child with my family, and the fishing has always been an incredibly fun adventure. For those like myself who aren’t “reel” fisherman, the captains and deck hands truly make the experience awesome and fun for the whole family. If you do desire higher end fishing, there are a number of boats available in the fleet that are TOP notch, including air conditioned cabin and top of the line gear.

Pretty much your typical old school Mexican Playa hotel. Plenty clean but nothing fancy, proximity to the beach you couldn't ask for more and Sport Fishing just steps away. Staff always willing to accommodate and go the extra mile which made a difference. Food on site was so-so, and the drinks were decent but nothing fancy. If you're lucky to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cabo this is probably a good choice. Several swimming pools including a swim-up bar. All in all it was pretty decent

The hotel stay was fabulous. The beds were super comfortable. The View was absolutely spectacular. We have reserved dinner on Valentine's Day and we were seated below deck on the sand next to the air conditioner generator that was constantly running. They had cheap plastic chairs and I ended up falling over backwards because one of my legs got in a sand pocket of some sort. For as much as a resort cost I feel that we should have been seated somewhere else. We had reservations also. The food was hot and there was plenty of it as there was a all you can eat buffet . The desert although was pretty much one bite. The Lack family that performed were outstanding. Overall it was a great experience except for the seating at dinner and the little itty bitty teenie weenie dessert.

Booked a couple nights here and splurged a bit on upgraded ($80usd/night) Garden room with private Hot Tub. Got to room to find out hot tub not working (not told on check in) and empty. The room is beautiful, large and comfy. Restaurants, Bay View and Umi Sushi) also good. Disappointed, I inquired on a discount on room price. They gave me $20 a night discount. Not what I had hoped as a king room without a near by private hot tub is $80 less and much closer to the Restaurants etc. Ah well. If I save another a bit of aggrevation it's worth it. By the way, both hot tubs were immediately roped off and marked Out of Service within hours of our arrival and inquiries as to when they would be usable.

Review: Hotel Palmas de Cortez – East Cape Gem! We stayed at Hotel Palmas de Cortez for two nights while checking out the East Cape, and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Our room was large with an equally spacious washroom, and we had a beautiful view overlooking both the pool and the beach. The sunrises were stunning—worth waking up early for! The hotel was very clean, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Its location is ideal as well; you can easily walk to nearby stores, restaurants, and everything in Los Barriles. We rented a cart to explore the town, which made it even more fun. A huge bonus is the massive pickleball facility right next door, with 24 gorgeous courts and stay-and-play packages. We didn’t play this time, but we went to check it out and were seriously impressed. The beach itself is beautiful, swimmable, and perfect for long walks. You can even drive a car or side-by-side right on the sand, which is such a unique experience. Overall, we highly recommend Hotel Palmas de Cortez—comfortable, clean, friendly, and in a perfect spot to enjoy everything Los Barriles has to offer. Would definitely stay again!

I had a great week here - room on the second floor with balcony had a gorgeous view, several restaurants on site and within walking distance. Staff was very friendly and hospitable. Walked the beach and loved watching all the kite surfers in the afternoon. And it was just across the parking lot to Las Palmas pickleball complex.

Hotel Palmas was the perfect destination for our dream wedding. We hosted more than 100 friends and family members, and the hotel exceeded every expectation, accommodating our group with care, organization, and genuine hospitality. Los Barriles is truly a hidden gem. We felt incredibly safe, and the hotel’s central location made it easy for our guests to explore and enjoy the town at their own pace. The staff went above and beyond throughout the entire experience. Liz was an incredible support system during the planning process. Her attention to detail and clear communication made us feel confident about hosting an international group, and we knew our guests were in great hands from the moment they booked. The amenities throughout the property have clearly been updated with intention. For the wedding itself, everything was beautiful. We held our ceremony on the beach, had our band perform on the stage, and enjoyed the most stunning reception under the stars. The pool area is gorgeous, complete with a swim-up bar, and service from Pablo, Rudy, and Maribel was consistently excellent. The restaurants were another highlight. These were not typical hotel restaurants — they were a vibrant part of the experience, serving fresh food with wonderful service. During the wedding, Oscar and the bar team kept the drinks flowing and brought such great energy. Our guests absolutely loved them. The rooms were exactly what we needed: clean, spacious, and comfortable. Some have been newly updated while others are more traditional, but every room had reliable service and thoughtful room attendants who made our stay easy. Transportation was seamless thanks to Jorge, who coordinated all airport transfers and logistics for our guests. And Eduardo, the best driver in town, made everyone feel safe, welcome, and well taken care of. We could not have asked for a better place to host our wedding. Hotel Palmas helped create memories we and our guests will cherish forever.
